The charming neighborhoods of Curtis Park and Land Park are escapes from the city, where you can stay carefree and experience an adventurous energy. From Sacramento Zoo, amusement parks and concerts to bars and brunch spots, there’s never a dull moment.

GUNTHER'S ICE CREAM

This family-run ice cream shop still makes its product the old-fashioned way, churning out about 3,500 gallons a week during hot summer months. The secret to their award-winning flavors is in the richness, using 16 percent butterfat, compared to other commercial ice cream shops that typically use 10 percent butterfat. Let's all scream for Gunther's Ice Cream!

SACRAMENTO ZOO

The Sacramento Zoo celebrated its 100th year anniversary in 2018. This 14.2 acre zoo is now home to over 500 animals including lions, zebras, giraffes and many more. Trick-or-treat through the exhibits during Halloween time, or enjoy a festive light show in December.

CROCKER VILLAGE SHOPPING CENTER

A brand new 72-acre development site just north of Sutterville Road and west of the Curtis Park neighborhood, featuring a delightful Safeway supermarket, local eateries, coffee shops and various practices for the community to enjoy.

FREEPORT BAKERY

Walter & Marlene Goetzeler moved to Sacramento in 1987 to purchase Freeport Bakery. It was a small but delightful bakery specializing in cakes and operating with the help of seven other staff members. Since then, the Goetzelers have grown the bakery into an award-winning neighborhood bakery that consistently satisfies the tastes and cravings of the Sacramento area.

WILLIAM LAND PARK

Built in the 1920's, William Land Park has a rich history in Sacramento. This 160-acre park is home to the Sacramento Zoo, Fairytale Town, Funderland and a 9-hole golf course. The park has become a community hub, brimming with activities, excitement and lots of fresh Sacramento air!
